Dr. Clifford Cranford, MD, FACS is the Director of Hemorrhoid Centers America – Newnan, GA.
He was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia. He attended Emory University and Emory University School of Medicine graduating in 1979. He trained in General Surgery in the Emory affiliated hospitals including Grady Memorial in Atlanta, finishing in 1984. He then did fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery and Endoscopy under the direction of Professor Alfred Cuschieri at University of Dundee-Ninewells Hospital in Dundee Scotland, finishing in 1985.
Dr. Cranford is Board Certified with the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of The American College of Gastroenterology, a member of The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Surgeons. He has practiced in Newnan since 1985 specializing in Gastrointestinal Diseases including minimal access laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy, breast disease, cancer, and thyroid/parathyroid surgery. Dr. Cranford was one of the initial surgeons in Georgia, as well at the Southeast, to do laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Cranford has over thirty (30) years of experience in caring for various gastrointestinal and rectal issues. He provides the full range of services for colon and rectal problems including colonoscopy. Dr. Cranford has been trained in the non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures, as developed by the Hemorrhoid Centers America, which features the CRH O’Regan Ligation System, and is now pleased to be the Medical Director for Hemorrhoid Centers of America in Newnan.
Dr. Cranford is married to Val who is a Newnan native and the sister of Dr. Frank Powell. Val is very active in our community and recently worked with Dr. Kay Crosby and many others to establish The Samaritan Clinic for indigent care in Coweta County. She has also worked to help establish Angel’s House an organization designed to raise money for and support a safe house for the protection of children. They have four children, Valentine, Emily, Cliff III, and Jack. His hobbies include cooking and hunting. They are members of the First Methodist Church in Newnan.
