Dr. Carmen Fong, MD, FACS, is Co-Director of the Hemorrhoid Centers of America - Atlanta. She is a double board-certified surgeon in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Fong has multiple years of experience in the office treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Each year at HCA we help thousands of patients avoid painful unnecessary surgery.

Dr. Fong earned a Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed a general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, after which she completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital/NYU Winthrop. Dr. Fong was most recently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
During her training, Dr. Fong won multiple awards including the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Scholarly Achievement Award and the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Chief Resident Award. She is a member of the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, where she sits on the Ethics and Health Advocacy Committees, and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, where she is on the Young Surgeons Committee. She has been published as the lead or co-author and has presented her work at multiple national and international conferences. Dr. Fong is also actively engaged in education, leadership, and volunteer roles in the medical field and beyond.
Dr. Fong’s clinical work focuses on the non-surgical office treatment of benign anorectal diseases including hemorrhoids, fissures, constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction, anal manometry, anal fistulas and pilonidal disease. Her research interests include the treatment of hemorrhoids, fissures, colorectal cancer in young people, surgical site infections, and new technological advances in colorectal surgery.
